Rhona McMenamin Named Inaugural PropelHer Altitude Scholarship Recipient
We’re delighted to share that Rhona McMenamin of Altavair has been named the inaugural recipient of the PropelHer Altitude Scholarship, created in partnership with UCD Smurfit Executive Development.
The scholarship was launched earlier this year to create a meaningful opportunity for women in aviation to continue investing in their professional development. Open to eligible alumnae of PropelHer’s Altitude programme, it provides full funding for UCD Smurfit Executive Development’s Level 9 Diploma in Aviation Finance.
As the first recipient, Rhona will begin the nine-month, part-time programme this month, with the scholarship covering the full tuition fees of more than €9,000.
For PropelHer, this scholarship is exactly the kind of practical opportunity we want to continue creating for our community. We want to help open doors, support continued development and create opportunities that can have a real impact on women’s careers across the aviation industry.
Rhona’s application stood out for the strength of her experience, her commitment to learning and her ambition to continue growing within the industry.
Speaking about receiving the scholarship, Rhona said:
“I am honoured to be the inaugural recipient of the PropelHer Altitude Scholarship. PropelHer has been tireless in supporting and encouraging women across the aviation industry, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity created through its partnership with UCD Smurfit Executive Development. I look forward to building my knowledge of aviation finance through the programme and applying those learnings to support my continued growth within the industry.”
Tim Wray, Director, UCD Smurfit Executive Development, said:
“We are delighted to partner with PropelHer in awarding this scholarship to Rhona. It reflects our commitment to leadership development in aviation and to creating opportunities for women to develop their leadership potential and play a key role in shaping the future of the industry.”
Andrea Wilson, Director of PropelHer, added:
“Rhona stood out for the strength of her application, her commitment to her professional development to date, and her strong appetite for continued growth and learning. We’re delighted to support her through this next stage.
“This scholarship is exactly the type of practical opportunity we want to create for our community. We’re hugely grateful to UCD Smurfit Executive Development for partnering with PropelHer and supporting our ambition to invest in the continued development of women in aviation.”
We’re hugely grateful to James Bannigan, Cathy Timlin, Tim Wray and the wider team at UCD Smurfit Executive Development for partnering with us on this initiative and supporting our ambition to invest in the continued development of women across aviation.
A huge congratulations to Rhona!
